meet the Greek Water Buffalo...

a free heart...
A… free heart, the Greek water buffalo migrated to Greece thanks to Xerxes, who transported it along with his army’s supplies across the Strymon. It is an animal that is not confined but grazes freely on the shores of the lake.
In the centuries that have passed, it has saved the local populations from starvation with its meat and milk. Since 1950, Dutch cows have stolen the show and the water buffalo has been neglected. Its population is decreasing, its meat is undervalued. It took the great food scandals with dioxins and mad cows to rediscover the safety and purity of the despised buffalo meat.
